First-Time Student Application Process

The following information is required of all International Students applying for admission to Dixie State University in order to receive an I-20.

2. Application Fee

International application is a $75 non-refundable fee. Instructions on how to pay the application fee will be provided after it is submitted.

3. Bank Statement

International students planning to attend Dixie State University must provide their own or their sponsor’s bank statements for at least the past three months. The amount shown must be at least 21,604 USD.

4. Affidavit of Support

If a sponsor will be assisting you with your cost of attendance, they must complete the Affidavit of Support form found below. You may have multiple sponsors, but each sponsor must complete a separate Affidavit of Support.

5. High School Equivalence

You must provide proof that you have completed your secondary education. If you are interested in receiving the International Freshman Merit Scholarship, you must submit a complete transcript. However, if you are not interested in receiving the scholarship, you may submit a diploma or examination certificate.

6. Passport Copy

Provide a color copy of your passport.

7. English Proficiency (Optional)

If English is not your primary language, you must prove English proficiency by submitting one of the documents listed below:

  • A TOEFL score of at least 68
  • A IELTS score of at least 6.0
  • A letter from your secondary school indicating that your language of instruction was English

If you do not provide test scores or a letter from your secondary school, or if your scores are lower than the scores listed above, you will automatically be issued an I-20 for ESL. Regardless of your test scores, you will participate in placement testing once you arriving at DSU. If you do begin with ESL classes, you can also pursue a degree after completing ESL.
